BUSY.

It was one heeeck of a busy month. I don’t know how I survived it. But I find that’s how it always is: you push through in a near-blinded ferocity. And when you have fully come to your senses, you’ve already reached the other side.

At this point, I don’t care how I got through this month. I’m just extremely grateful that I have 🙂

Side Notes is a monthly wrap up where I share the interesting, and incredibly inspiring things I found during the month that I couldn’t fit in any post. Expect awesome recs, awesome books and awesome bloggers.

Also expect: fangirling (lots of it) and a glimpse into my life — the happy, the chaos and all.

interesting finds

In the Blogosphere

This month’s featured bloggers are fewer than the usual seven or eight. (See reason: first word above) But I plan on sharing as much beautiful Blogmas post in December so hopefully, I’ll make it up!

Laura (aka Lavrax) wrote an amazing piece on Imposter Syndrome and it is RELATABLE. Read it.

Kelly shared her stand on euthanasia for the mentally ill and it’s such a thought-provoking read that I urge you all to read.

Thanks to this post by Shirley on three personality tests you can try to better understand yourself, I now know my predominant dosha and it makes TOTAL sense.

The Awesome Side of the Internet

Yes, yes. I know. The Internet can be a jerk sometimes. But it is also filled with authentic and incredibly inspiring human stories. I always believe it only takes one kind heart for other kindness to join in 🙂

The Greatest Showman Reimagined, especially Brendon and Sara’s take on The Greatest Show and Tightrope.

The Royal Mail’s response to a pure little kid’s request of sending his letter to his dad in heaven.

recommendations of the month
A water bottle

Okay, okay. I know this recommendation is kinda odd but hear me out. For the past several months, I’ve been using a plastic bottle to put my water. It’s one of those drinks you buy in a convenience store that’s in a plastic bottle made to be reused. I used that because a) my old water bottle was tiny and I drink more water nowadays (yay for self-improvement!!) and b) I was too lazy to buy a bigger water bottle.

Pro-tip though: If you’re clumsy or carry your water bottle with you instead of putting it inside your bag, don’t ever buy one of those glass tumblers. No matter how cute they look. You’ll break it and your heart.

the little things

Little Victories – Kickass Stuff that Happened This Month

  • I stepped out of my comfort zone and talked to someone about something I won’t go into details of (yasss!)
  • I spent less than I expected for my graduation ball dress! (savings!)
  • I know this isn’t a little victory per se, but it still needs repeating: I GOT THROUGH NOVEMBER.
  • My Pinterest graphics game is ON FIRE, and I’m in love!!

Little Detours – What Kicked My Ass This Month

(because we’re not perfect, and it’s good to share your awful moments)

  • I had little sleep the past couple weeks (and it’s not good yo)
  • Sara Bareilles’s She Used to be Mine is making me feel all the things
  • I currently have zero posts scheduled and on buffer and I’m scared
  • I’ve been relatively healthy the entire month until the 30th, when I had a snotfest (yet again) and a slight fever. So much for being super healthy for the last two months of the year.

Little Milestones – Things I Want to Achieve or Do Next Month

(because according to Gretchen Rubin’s Four Tendencies, I am an Obliger and I need outside accountability to reach personal goals)

Finish my November post line-up before the end of the first week and get started on probably half of December posts

Last Month’s Self-Improvement Challenge

Eat a fruit once a day. There was a few times when I totally forgot to eat a fruit. But that’s like 4 days out of 30 so I’m calling it a success.

Next Month’s Self-Improvement Challenge

I’m giving myself a free pass this December and just allow myself to be happy and stress-free. Also, starting this month, I will be doing a 365-day art challenge with the amazing Lia of Lost in a Story. I’ll be doing most of the progress updates on Twitter and my art Instagram so follow along through there if you want!

YOU GUYS. You only have less than TWO days to join my Blog Birthday Giveaway. I’m giving away a 25USD Amazon gift card and art commissions! I’ll be picking the winners on December 2nd, 11:59PM PT. If you haven’t joined yet, you can do so here. Good luck!!

I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

How was YOUR November? Do you have some exciting things going on for December? Tell me all the things!!

    1. Thank you so much Anna! Lav’s post are always so fun and entertaining to read!! Sadly, that journal isn’t mine. The image is a stock photo I use. Would’ve wished it was mine though, that bullet journal looks neat 😀
